Available from stock all steel plate can be cut to size and shape according to your fabrication and design requirements and all work is governed by our independently accredited and regularly audited quality systems to ISO 9001.
Our plates are sourced from the highest quality steel manufacturers in the world and, like all our suppliers, these manufacturers have been vetted and assessed by our procurement team. This not only means that the quality of our stock is assured but also that our extensive supply partnerships offer the opportunity for us to supply non-stock items or non-standard sizes directly from the steel mill to our customers. Using this form of supply it is often possible to deliver much faster than “standard” mill lead times.
All of our plates and plate products can be delivered to customers anywhere in the world using the services of our own in-house logistics staff.

Boiler Plate Steel ASME SA516 Grade 60 and ASTM A516 Grade
The A516 / SA516 standard, its full name is “Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, for Moderate- and Lower-Temperature Service”, is widely used by designers and engineers in many market sectors particularly outside of Europe. You may also see the following variations:
ASTM A516 Gr. 60N or ASME SA516 Gr. 60N – the “N” is added to show that the steel is normalised
ASTM A516M or ASME SA516M – the “M” indicates that the material is certified in metric units
We are also stockists of plates manufactured and certified to:
ASTM A516 Gr. 65 ASME SA516 Gr. 65
ASTM A516 Gr. 70 ASME SA516 Gr. 70
ASME SA516 Gr. 60 / ASTM A516 Gr. 60 - the specification
A516 / SA516 is a remarkably straightforward standard in its basic form with just five key chemical elements specified along with three mechanical properties.

Boiler Plate Steel BS 1501 161 430A and BS 1501 161 430B
BS 1501 161
BS 1501 161 specifies requirements for fully killed carbon steel plates up to 150 mm thick in three grades which relate to minimum tensile strength. The plates may also be supplied having specified elevated temperature properties in which case they are designated with a "B" at the end of the specification rather than an "A". Plates are supplied in the normalised condition although at the manufacturer's option the normalising treatment can be ommitted for plates up to and including 40 mm thick provided that all specified property requirements are met when the steel is in the hot finished condition.
BS 1501 161 430A and BS 1501 161 430B: the specification
The grade BS 1501 161 430A shows that the steel will have a minimum tensile strength of 430 N/mm2 (430). BS 1501 161 430B is the same in all respects except that it also has has elevated temperature properties specified (B). As well as BS 1501 161 430A and 430B, we are also stockists of pressure vessel plates manufactured and certified to BS 1501 in the following grades:
BS 1501 223 490B LT30 BS 1501 224 490B LT50 BS 1501 225 490B LT50
