Not only do we consider ourselves specialists in pressure vessel plate and its processing but we are proud to confirm that, unlike some other steel companies, all of the grades indicated above are genuine product lines that are always in stock
The designation EN 10028:3 P355NL1 shows that this is steel for pressure purposes (P) with minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (355) which is impact tested in the transverse direction at -40 deg C (NL1). EN 10028:3 P355NL2 follows the same pattern but is impact tested at -50 deg C.
P355NL1 and P355NL2 compared
The differences between P355NL1 and P355NL2 can be seen in the tables below but are summarised as follows:
As well as P355NL1 and P355NL2, we are also stockists of plates manufactured and certified to:

ASTM / ASME A / SA 516 Gr. 60 / 65 / 70 HIC
The A537 / SA537 standard, its full name is “Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Heat-Treated, Carbon-Manganese-Silicon Steel”, is intended use in the manufacture of fusion welded pressure vessels and structures.
The material under this specification is available in three classes. Class 1 steel is supplied in the normalised condition and the specification covers plates up to 100 mm (4 inches) in thickness.

Pressure Vessel Plate ASME SA516 Grade 65 and ASTM A516 Grad
The A516 / SA516 standard, its full name is “Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, for Moderate- and Lower-Temperature Service”, is widely used by designers and engineers in many market sectors particularly outside of Europe. You may also see the following variations:
ASTM A516 Gr. 65N or ASME SA516 Gr. 65N – the “N” is added to show that the steel is normalised
ASTM A516M or ASME SA516M – the “M” indicates that the material is certified in metric units
We are also stockists of plates manufactured and certified to:
ASTM A516 Gr. 60 ASME SA516 Gr. 60
ASTM A516 Gr. 70 ASME SA516 Gr. 70
ASME SA516 Gr. 65 / ASTM A516 Gr. 65 - the specification
The chemical and mechanical requirements of A516 / SA516 are very simple and these are listed below. Further complexity comes from additional supplementary requirements and end-user produced variations: needless to say, We are able to supply Grade 65 plates that will meet the most stringent specifications.
